Here at Rockland, we are
“Building the Family of God on the Solid Rock of Jesus Christ”
Rockland welcomed Pastor Jim Condrey in July, 2010. He shares his life with his wife, Cyndi, and son, T.J.
Methodism came to the Belpre area as early as 1822 when a class of 21 members met in a schoolhouse near the present site. The church was founded in 1827 and work began on the building in April, 1832 and was completed on June 9 of the same year. This structure was the first to be raised in Belpre without liquor being on the job site. By 1842 there were 75 members of the Cedarville Church (now Rockland). In the mid-1950’s, the old Education Building was constructed, and in 1961, due to the condition of the 129 year old sanctuary, it was rebuilt on the present site. In 1997 the new fellowship hall, kitchen, and educational wing were completed. We continue to reach out in many diverse ways and invite you to join this dynamic, historic congregation as we confidently look to the future.
We would like to invite you to join us on Sundays for Passionate Worship and Intentional Faith Development!
